Team Leader/Experienced Dog Walker
Job Summary

This experienced walker will work in the field helping clients and contractors to create an engaging, exciting, and safe walk routine. Team Leads work with a variety of breeds and temperaments many times without a formal introduction. The ability to read dog body language is a must for Team Leaders. The ideal candidate should have a passion for helping animals (primarily dogs) and helping others understand how to interact safely and constructively with canines. Responsibilities and Duties
Performing back up dog walks for our dog walking team when they are unavailable
On-boarding and training new dog walkers
Interview dog walking candidates out in the field (with a dog present)
Conducting meetings with clients (both in a sales capacity and to facilitate new walker introductions)
Assist contractors with facilitating a constructive walk with nervous, anxious or reactive dogs.
Assist contractors and clients by building a walk routine that enriches both dog and handler.
Data entry, ensuring all important client details are recorded in our client database (Time to Pet).
Filing documents, labeling client keys, delivering keys and preparing marketing materials
Track key inventory and update client accounts with notes pertinent to walk success.
Assist the office staff as needed
Requirements
3+ Yrs Dog Handling experience (Vet Tech, Grooming, Dog Training, Dog Walking, Doggy Daycare, Kennel Work, Shelter Volunteer)
Available Monday - Friday.
Located in Chicago, IL 60642 must be able to reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.
Available for at minimum 13 Saturdays and two holidays on a rotating basis per year (time and a half pay on holidays)
Capable of making a long term commitment to the company (2 years+)
You must have a smart phone with a data plan (cell phone reimbursement available)
You must be at least 18 years of age
You must have access to a reliable/insured vehicle (parking/mileage reimbursements available)
Be prepared for all weather, this is a year round position and some work is performed outdoors
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Physically able to lift 50lbs and comfortable picking up dogs if necessary
Able to walk 6-8 miles on days when dog walking assistance is required
Willing to submit to a background check if a position is offered
Qualifications and Skills
Comfortable walking all dogs regardless of size, breed, age, medical condition or temperament.
Careful with detailed instructions (feedings, medications or special instructions apply to these walks)
Understanding Chicago geography, able to select the quickest route between client residences
The ability to make quick decisions to keep dogs and walkers safe
Capable of walking more than one dog at a time (we only work with one household at a time)
Practicing time management to enable on time arrivals for office tasks and dog walks
Experience communicating with others via voice, messenger, text and email
Comfortable taking the lead, managing and working in team settings.

Starting pay of $21/Hr
